Description

Lethal. Loyal. Legendary.

Enter the world of Throne of Glass with the first book in the #1 bestselling series by Sarah J. Maas.

In a land without magic, an assassin is summoned to the castle. She has no love for the vicious king who rules from his throne of glass, but she has not come to kill him. She has come to win her freedom. If she defeats twenty-three murderers, thieves, and warriors in a competition, she will be released from prison to serve as the King's Champion.

Her name is Celaena Sardothien.

The Crown Prince will provoke her. The Captain of the Guard will protect her. And a princess from a faraway country will befriend her. But something rotten dwells in the castle, and it's there to kill. When her competitors start dying mysteriously, one by one, Celaena's fight for freedom becomes a fight for survival-and a desperate quest to root out the evil before it destroys her world.

Thrilling and fierce, Throne of Glass is the first book in the #1 New York Times bestselling series that has captivated readers worldwide.

I read this book back when it was first published. Went back this past month to binge the whole series. Amazing characters development as you flip through book after book. New characters unlocked, new romances, brutal adventures, tragedies, and best of all, Celaena’s power development.

Waaaay worse than her more recent books, lacks the detail and compelling storyline that normally pulls you in. Do NOT recommend.

Sarah J. has an almost unfair talent to pull you into the worlds she creates. The storytelling, the force of emotions you feel, and the connections to the characters she instills; it’s nearly impossible to not fall in love with this book. You’ll only want to keep reading! The eagerness in wanting to find out what more she could tell in her stories is addicting. While the fantasy/magic element was slowly introduced, it’s paced perfectly. Knowing this is only the first book in the series, you’ll be eager to jump headfirst into the second in the series.

cute little fantasy romance book and i actually liked the main character which is hard to do with a dangerous i dont trust anyone im so tortured and evil character. like she was actually a really likable character but i did hate damian like i didnt at first but i know shes going to end up with him and im mad abt it. it was overall a good balance of focus on characters/relationships and events separate from that

Read this after finishing the ACOTAR series because I love the SJM world so much!! This is very similar but more mystery/adventure and less romantic (still there but not the main focus) everyone says the 2nd and 3rd book of this series makes the slowness of the 1st worth it so I’m in it for the long haul!
  • A book I’ll quickly forget

Story fell flat. Main character was really bizarre to me—perhaps not enough of her back story was given? I just could not piece her together properly throughout this whole book— she really made no sense to me. Actually, it’s not just the main character, a lot of the characters fell flat in the same way.
