Description

Perfect summer reading! Don’t miss the #1 New York Times bestselling blockbuster and Reese Witherspoon Book Club Pick that’s sold over 2 million copies–now an Apple TV+ Limited series starring Jennifer Garner!

The “page-turning, exhilarating” (PopSugar) and “heartfelt thriller” (Real Simple) about a woman who thinks she’s found the love of her life—until he disappears.

Before Owen Michaels disappears, he smuggles a note to his beloved wife of one year: Protect her. Despite her confusion and fear, Hannah Hall knows exactly to whom the note refers—Owen’s sixteen-year-old daughter, Bailey. Bailey, who lost her mother tragically as a child. Bailey, who wants absolutely nothing to do with her new stepmother.

As Hannah’s increasingly desperate calls to Owen go unanswered, as the FBI arrests Owen’s boss, as a US marshal and federal agents arrive at her Sausalito home unannounced, Hannah quickly realizes her husband isn’t who he said he was. And that Bailey just may hold the key to figuring out Owen’s true identity—and why he really disappeared.

Hannah and Bailey set out to discover the truth. But as they start putting together the pieces of Owen’s past, they soon realize they’re also building a new future—one neither of them could have anticipated.

With its breakneck pacing, dizzying plot twists, and evocative family drama, The Last Thing He Told Me is a “page-turning, exhilarating, and unforgettable” (PopSugar) suspense novel.

I like it, I like all of the characters, and I blazed through it. I almost wish it would have been longer to flesh out the tertiary characters more. How they all intersected in the past. Grady’s story etc
  • Captivating Read

Great book! Love that the ending isn’t this fairytale ending, more realistic, still wonderful.
  • An abrupt end with no resolution

This book was so subjective. I was bored to death. Also, idk about y’all, but I have had 3 step moms. Not one of them would have done any of that for me LOL! It was very far fetched. Not believable at all. I had to force myself to finish it.
  • Better I expected

A well developed story comes to an unresolved and abrupt ending. Total waste of time.
  • A waste of time

I don’t understand how this boring, unbelievable story got so many goods AND its very own series. It’s really just not very interesting.
  • I don’t get the hype

A surface piece. Pop music book. Unsatisfying.
  • Missed Opportunities

I think this book was really good. My only criticism is that the plot line missed some opportunities to take the plot to a higher level, but this is so subjective. Others may not agree, but I think the author set the foundation for some twists that were never exploited, the result of which was to leave some loose ends. Then again, perhaps what I perceive to be loose ends may in fact be walkways to the sequel.
